Dominic rubbishes claim of Covid-19 infection in his team

Singapore-born Malaysian footballer Dominic Tan, who plays for Thailand’s Police Tero, has denied that a staff member of his team has contracted Covid-19.

Reports claimed that a staff member of the Thai League One team had tested positive for the virus after attending a Muay Thai bout at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok on March 6.

However, the defender confirmed that the person did not contract the virus.

“The staff member was tested for the virus. And his result returned negative,” said Dominic yesterday.

“I am still in Thailand.”

Thailand has recorded 2,169 cases as of yesterday with 23 deaths.

“My club (Police Tero) have told me not to comment further because the situation here is quite complicated,” he added.
