And yesterday, Brendan announced that he will be leaving Perak.

Brendan, it is learnt, couldn’t reach an agreement with this year’s FA Cup runners-up Perak on a new contract.

“I have always given my all for Perak every time I stepped onto the field but sometimes in football, it is not enough,” he said.

“I have cherished every moment of the two years spent in Ipoh and have so many great memories that will last with me for a lifetime.

“Football is everything to me but it is a business to some. We will remember the history we have created and who knows, maybe one day, I will be able to return to Perak,” he added.

The 31-year-old thanked his teammates, Perak coach Mehmet Durakovic, former Perak FA president and current Malaysian Rugby Union chairman Datul Shahrul Zaman Yahya and Perak fans.

Brendan, a former Sydney FC midfielder, has been linked to Kedah, Selangor and Terengganu for the new season.

However, the Kedah FA said though they were in talks with Brendan, the association did not continue the negotiations due to the costs

But all indications are that Brendan will join Selangor next year.
